Dr. William Golbeck
Dr. Golbeck graduated from the University of Guelph with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1978 and completed his DVM in 1983 from The Ontario Veterinary College. After a short stint in a mixed practice in Ontario, Bill migrated west and ended up in Calgary where he has remained for all but a 6 month contract position in a mixed practice in Nova Scotia. Initially working emergency and locums, he eventually found a position managing one of the older established practices in Calgary and after a year purchased it in 1989. After 30 years as the owner & operator of Westmount Animal Clinic Inc., Dr. Golbeck has sold the clinic to Dand Veterinary Services who took over management as of July 2018 .Dr. Golbeck will continue to provide veterinary services at Westmount on part-time basis. His professional interests range from laser surgery to laser therapy and his strength is his innate ability to handle pets of all kinds and temperaments!
Dr. Amanda Bartier
We at Westmount are happy to welcome Dr. Amanda Bartier to our team. Amanda was born and raised in Calgary. Her love of animals started at a young age as she always had cats and dogs growing up. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, she worked at an animal shelter and vet clinic for several years. She went back to school and completed her Master’s degree, focused on dairy calf health and immunity. Her experiences working with animals inspired her to go to veterinary school. She earned her DVM from University of Calgary in 2018 . In her spare time, Amanda enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, gardening in the summer and skating in winter.
Registered Animal Health Technologist
Ever since Amy could talk, she said she wanted to be a vet. She has spent well over a decade finding her career path; going to university to be an English teacher, going to art school, working for a major airline – all while moving around the country. She must have known animals were always her calling, as she continuously maintained some form of work, whether part-time or full-time, in the veterinary industry. Amy moved to Calgary in 2008 and started working as a receptionist in a small veterinary clinic. She has spent the last 9 years working different positions within clinics here in the city. She eventually listened to her old boss and attended Olds College for Animal Health Technology, graduating in 2017. Amy’s love for feisty felines, client education, nutrition and preventive medicine made her the purr-fect fit for our team, joining us October 2017. In her spare time Amy enjoys spending time with her husband, Ryan, and their fur-babies.
Registered Animal Health Technologist
Brittany graduated from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in 2009. Her special interests in the veterinary field pertain to behavior and canine rehabilitation. She is certified to run puppy socialization classes from both Dr. Roland Tripp and The Karen Pryor Academy Puppy Start Right Program. Brittany has worked in many different areas of veterinary medicine including rescue, where she spent 7 weeks working at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab Utah with National Geographic’s Dog Town; large and small animals, exotics, and wildlife. She enjoys participating in fundraising efforts with various animal related charities, as well as with international and domestic spay/neuter clinics. In her free time, she enjoys exploring Calgary and the nearby mountains with her Partner Joe and her rescued shepherd cross named Hali.
Tatjana (Tana) G.
Tana left University of Guelph with her diploma in Agricultural Economics in 1983. For the last 30 years, Tana has been an active owner and practice administrator of Westmount Animal Clinic Inc. and took much pride in being part of such vibrant community. As of July 2018, the clinic has been sold to Dand Veterinary Clinics. Tana is still helping out at the clinic but on part time basis. Besides being involved with her family and supporting their many activities, she is an instructor at Robertson College and is looking forward to new ventures and having time to pursue her many interests.
Veterinary Assistant and Pet Nutrition Counselor
Born and raised in Orillia, Ontario, Brooke graduated from Georgian College’s Veterinary Assistant program in 2015. Having always wanted to work with animals, Brooke finally had a lifelong dream come true. Brooke has worked in several veterinary clinics since graduation. She is currently working towards becoming a nutritional counselor for cats & dogs. Brooke’s love of client education, positivity and love of all things animal made her a wonderful fit with our team, joining us November 2017. Brooke is a self proclaimed “crazy cat lady”. She is a proud cat-mom to her fur-baby “Annie”, a spoiled 3-year-old domestic short haired kitty.
Veterinary Office and Technical Assistant
From Halifax, NS to Calgary, AB, Morgan has tried her hand at several career choices. Morgan went to school for a short time training to be a classical oboist before moving west and working in the trades. In 2018, Morgan earned her diploma for the Veterinary Office and Technical Assistant program at Robertson College. After completing her practicum at Westmount Animal Clinic, Morgan joined the team full time and continues to grow and learn every day. Morgan’s drive to learn and love of animals, large and small, called her into the veterinary field. In her off time, Morgan spends as much time as she can with her goldendoodle, Kitty, her family and her boyfriend. Morgan loves all things animal, remains passionate about music, and goes snowboarding every chance she gets
